Opening Traps For White In The London System
- Panda Chess
The London System is named after the London Tournament played in 1922 where several top players, including former world champion and tournament winner Jose Raul Capablanca tried this opening.

When I was a kid, the London System used to have a dubious reputation, at least for players who wanted to press for an early advantage.
In fact, I even heard from many players that only old people tried that system 😊 to avoid sharp lines.
But chess evolves and what used to be certain in the past can be drastically different nowadays.
Despite having a reputation for being a very solid opening system it still has attacking potential. In the past decades, several top players, including former world champion Magnus Carlsen, incorporated the London System to their opening repertoire.
