Alireza Firouzja Wins the Sinquefield Cup
- Panda Chess
The Sinquefield Cup is an annual event that has been held since 2013 at the Saint Louis Chess Club, in St. Louis, Missouri, United States.
The playing venue
The club was opened by American multi-millionaire and investor Rex Sinquefield in 2007.
Someone who put millions into chess
This tournament has been amongst the most prestigious in the last 10 years. Despite the controversy on year 2022, where Magnus Carlsen withdrew from the tournament after his third-round game against American Grandmaster Hans Niemann (suggesting that his opponent cheated during their game) the tournament is still a must-follow.
